Ayumi is a lot of things all rolled into one tiny decaying body; she's a kleptomaniac (meaning she has the irresistable urge to steal steal steal); she loves to prank anyone and everyone, whether they be Muggle, wizard, ghost or demon.
Ayumi is a major tom-boy. but is still deeply immersed in the fashion industry, due to her upbringing; she keeps track of what's 'in', and what's 'out', and simply tells those that ask her, though she dresses her own way (which seems to always be 'in'). This is because of her childhood; when she was a child, she was allowed to do anything she wanted, be rowdy, play hard, whatever; as long as she didn't ruin her foster parents' reputations, they didn't care. This all ended when she got older; her 'parents' begain to train her to be the perfect pureblood child, borderline Death-Eater-to-be. To this day, these teachings influence her.
Due to her being adopted by an 'old' pureblood family, Ayumi has a certain aloofness about people. She doesn't always have the nicest personality when meeting people, but when people get to know her, she seems to become a whole 'nother person. Also due to her adoption, Ayumi has become very selfish, as she isn't used to getting things and holds what little she has tightly to her and snaps at all those that try to take them away.
Ayumi loves water, plain and simple. She loves it so much, she tried and succeeded in transfiguring her bed into a water bed. She will only drink water (though flavored is okay by her), and loves fish and amphibians - to the extent she has a pet water snake.
Ayumi is infamously known in the Slytherin house for her odd habit; she points not with her index finger, but with her index and middle finger, her thumb often extended as well, giving the appearance that she is playing Go. She has a very alluring aura about her that seems to draw people in from all Houses, which has caused rumors to circulate concerning whether or not she has faerie or Veela heritage.
Ayumi loves high fashion and anything water related. Her favorite classes are Defense Against the Dark Arts, Potions and Care of Magical Creatures. She likes canines, dragons, snakes, and, oddly enough, the Dark Arts. Her best friend is Yume Hughes, regardless as her position as the Gryffindor Prefect. Ayumi likes Peeves, her prankster buddy. She dislikes just about everything else, but especially Professor McGonagall and Professor Flitwick. Ayumi won't take crap from anyone, and won't hesitate to fight back and, if needed, kill someone to get her point across. This causes Ayumi to take part in fights all the time, and she seems to have a permanent spot in the detention hall.

When Ayumi was conceived, it was by her Japanese mothers' rape by a Death Eater in the midst of an attack; for the woman, it was a not-so-simple case of being in the wrong place at the worst time. Because of her pregnancy, the traumatized woman couldn't return home, as Apparating or Floo-ing would harm the baby and herself. So for nine grueling months, imprisoned by her own body, she had to work odd jobs. Not even five minutes after her little girl was born, the woman dumped the child in a garbage bin and Apparated home, leaving the newborn for death. Luckily for the small child, she was saved by an elderly woman that would eventually become her foster grandmother, and was dropped off at a highly esteemed orphanage. Not even a year later, she was showing signs of magic, and was adopted by a couple of an old Wizarding family.
Being adopted by the Witherington's proved itself as a lucky break for Ayumi; she was free to play and horse around however much she wanted. The only requirement she had was that she didn't get in enough trouble to ruin their reputations and that she wouild submit herself to training when she turned five. The years passed and Ayumi could be seen climbing trees and making caves in hillsides with her imaginary friends and the ghosts that roamed the Witherington lands. On her fifth birthday, her foster parents revealed to her that they were actually Dark Wizards, and sided only with the Dark Lords that appeared; in fact, the Witheringtons' history was riddled with dabblings in the Dark Arts, and the reason they made Ayumi wait until she was five for her training was so they could work on making themselves look better in the public's eye.
As the years passed, it became apparent to all that knew the Witherington's that Ayumi was being raised to be the perfect pureblood heir; she was cold, aloof, beautiful, and knew more about politics, Dark Arts, Ancient Runes and Arithmancy, and - at her foster mothers' demand - fashion than anyone under 20 should know. Finally, on her 11th birtday, she got her Hogwarts acceptance letter and began packing for her journey to Hogwarts.
As she grew during her first year at Hogwarts, she began to crawl out of the shell that her family had forced her into, and began to befriend many people, in Slytherin and out of it. The entire time, she had to put up with insults and jeers about how she was an anti-Slytherin and deserved to be in Hufflepuff; this all changed when it came time for the exams at the end of first year and aced them all, her scores only matched by Remus Lupin of Gryffindor.
In her second year, she began to act out, and it became known to the Slytherin house that she was a klepto. Instead of banishing her, the Slytherin girls began to help her, giving her things they didn't want anymore to keep her occupied. Despite feeling like she was being treated as a child, Ayumi was thankful. She then became known for her pranks that seemed small at first, but had long-lasting effects.
Ayumi's third year was relatively boring, except for the fact that she got into several dozen fights and ended up with a broken collar bone, her left arm broken eight times, and her right leg broken twice. Despite all this, Ayumi was now respected by the upper years for her fiery attitude and the fact she can talk tough, and deliver it. This has also given her the title of the 'protector' of the younger students in her House.
Fourth year was almost exactly like her third year, down to fights with the exact same people from the previous year. The only major difference was the fact that Ayumi had a noticeably darker attitude, and it became apparent that the Witheringtons' had become abusive to her. This caused Ayumi to strike out more than usual, especially against authority such as Albus Dumbledore and the other professors.
Fifth year was full of stress, as the OWLs were at the end of the year. In order to gain her coveted Prefect status, Ayumi made it her goal to ace every one of her OWLs. Easily managing this, Ayumi tied with Remus Lupin once again as top of their year, as she had been doing ever since first year. Sixth year has been fine so far, but you never know what can happen from one day to the next.
